Brophy Law Firm - Houston TX, Sugar Land TX Divorce Lawyer

Michael Brophy - Attorney Profile

Houston-area Attorney Michael Brophy has been a successful civil litigator throughout the State of Texas for more than 36 years, and has been offered listings in the Bar Register of Pre-eminent Lawyers since 2004.  Mr. Brophy has competently and cost-effectively handled lawsuits involving many areas of the law, including Family Law matters of varying complexity, since 1986.

In 1999, Mr. Brophy experienced first-hand the personal pain and agony of a lengthy, contested divorce.  After enduring that emotionally and financially devastating chapter in his life, Mr. Brophy dedicated himself to developing a Family Law practice that would, whenever and wherever possible, help parties find ways to avoid the trauma of a traditional divorce proceeding.

Mr. Brophy has completed all of the training necessary to be recognized as a Collaborative professional by the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas.  In addition, Mr. Brophy has studied Interdisciplinary Collaborative Family Law under some of the most gifted collaborative professionals in Houston and all of Texas. He is now a member in good standing of the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas.  Our Attorney also offers his services as a Mediator to those seeking to resolve their differences before or after the filing of a divorce Petition.

Our competent and compassionate Family Law Attorney is a 1981 graduate of North Texas State University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree (Cum Laude) in journalism; and a 1985 graduate of the University of Houston Law School. Before opening the doors to his own private practice in 1995, Mr. Brophy worked for a large, established law firm in Corpus Christi; a mid-sized litigation boutique in Dallas; the Houston office of a New York law firm; and a small law practice with offices in Houston and Corpus Christi.

Mr. Brophy is a proud Husband and Father, knows the Family Law Court system from the inside and the outside, and would welcome the opportunity to assist you - and your children - in navigating this difficult time in your lives.
